New CEO takes the reins at CRC ORE
CRC ORE looks forward to developing and delivering techniques to address the productivity challenges facing the resources industry. “The appointment of Prof. Adair further strengthens the management team of CRC ORE to address this challenge”, said Mr Jonathan Loraine Chairman of the Board of CRC ORE.
Professor Adair brings with him a strong background in research management and operational management and a broad industry network. His most recent position was at the Sustainable Minerals Institute (SMI) at The University of Queensland (UQ) as Director of the WH Bryan Mining & Geology Research Centre (BRC) and the Julius Kruttschnitt Mineral Research Centre (JKMRC). Before then he was Director Rio Tinto Centre for Advanced Mineral Separation and Deputy Director (Technical) SMI.
“Professor Adair was one of the main architects of SMI’s initiation of CRC ORE in 2010, and we are delighted to see this appointment continuing the SMI and CRC ORE relationship,” said Professor Chris Moran, Director of SMI.
UQ, through SMI and the School of Mechanical and Mining Engineering, will also continue its partnership with CRC ORE as an Essential Research Participant. SMI’s technology transfer company, JKTech Pty Ltd, will also continue its engagement with CRC ORE.
Professor Adair starts in the role as CEO as from 2 November 2015, after transitioning from his SMI role to CRC ORE. Mr Loraine thanked interim CEO, Mr Joe Pease, for his strong support of CRC during this transition year and is pleased that Mr Pease intends to continue to be involved with the program and to support Professor Adair and the CRC ORE team during its term.
