Farhad Faramarzi

Mining & Process Engineer

Dr Farhad Faramarzi is a Mining Engineer (BEng., MEng.) with extensive experience in drilling and blasting which includes design, risk assessment, field measurement, model development and optimisation. He worked for three years as Drill and Blast superintendent; having designed, managed and surveyed over 100 full-scale production blasts at some large open-pit iron and copper mines with consistent success in delivering results.

Farhad’s main area of expertise was built during his PhD in the mineral processing field at the Julius Kruttschnitt Mineral Research Centre (JKMRC) - part of The University of Queensland (UQ). His study covered ore comminution characterisation, design of experiments, process modelling and simulation. He also has made contribution to a number of key projects conducted through JKMRC and JKTech during his research activities at UQ. Farhad is now working within the Integrated Extraction Simulator (IES) team at CRC ORE as a Mining and Process Engineer.
