ABOUT CRC ORE
CRC ORE was a cooperative research centre established in 2010 to focus on Optimising Resource Extraction and delivering value to Australia by improving mine productivity, commercial return, and environmental outcomes.
Throughout its 11-year funding term, CRC ORE made significant progress in transforming the minerals sector by rapidly developing and integrating technology from concept to implementation.
On 30 June 2021, CRC ORE reached the end of its Federal Government funded term and allocated its remaining resources to establish a Future Research Program in collaboration with CSIRO.
The Future Research program will expand upon CRC ORE’s foundation research into the development of ore preconcentration technologies that can be deployed within the mine and ahead of the mineral processing plant. Further details on this program and participation opportunities can be found here.
Vision and Mission
CRC ORE‘s aim was to transform the minerals sector by deploying innovative world-class technology to effect a step change in value across the whole-of-mine system. It aimed to ‘Optimise Resource Extraction’ through site implementation of innovation to improve overall productivity.
Our Innovation Pathway
CRC ORE’s Innovation Pathway was based on a pipeline of activities that span the widely used Technology Readiness Level (TRL 1-9) scale of technology maturity.
Delivery Themes
CRC ORE had ten Delivery Themes. These packaged the point solutions developed in CRC ORE’s Development Programs, integrating them into a business-facing approach carefully designed to help support the path of new technologies into the business world.
Participate
CRC ORE was funded by a host of forward-thinking collaborators, focussed on finding solutions to reverse the decade-long trend of productivity decline in the minerals industry.
Governance & structure
Throughout its operating term, CRC ORE was committed to organisational excellence and this was underpinned by a robust governance structure. On this page we profile our former:

Strategic Plan 2015-2021
The CRC ORE team and Board created a 6-year strategic plan, building on successes from CRC ORE’s initial first term. The strategic plan was built around four key pillars: Invent, Integrate, Implement and Introduce.
